We are fully experienced in the fitting of dry ridge systems, installed to reduce maintainance on your roof. The ridge tiles of any roof are vulnerable to wind driven rain and can suffer considerable mortar damage over time, possibly leading to loose ridge tiles.
This has led builders to have a total re-think on the way in which roofs are constructed. In recent years dry, mortarless roofing systems have become the preferred method.
The number and ferocity of storms appears to be increasing in Britain. There is a growing realisation of the unrelaibility of using mortar to secure areas of the roof such as the ridge tiles.
With dry ridge tiles there is no need for mortar, making the job of fixing the ridge quick, easy and clean, as well as making it possible during frosts and other adverse weather conditions.
When using dry ridge systems the mortar joints between ridge tiles are replaced by plastic inserts, known as unions, that create the visual appearance of a mortar joint but have a hidden weather proofing system that carries away the water.
